The tests are conducted according to internationally recognized methodologies and provide objective comparisons of performance between the genotypes bred in the Czech Republic and world genotypes. The testing also includes tests of different genotypes at different levels of nutrition, as well as tests of quality and efficiency of diets from different feed manufacturers. Consequently, the enterprise not only implements the tasks ensuing from the Act. No. 154/2000 Coll. and the implementing decree but also contributes to the protection of end consumers both in domestic breeding and imports of genetics, and in poultry feed production.
Due to their high expertise the MTD Ústrašice poultry testing are one of the leading poultry testers in Europe. The costs of operation are shared between poultry breeders and producers, feed manufacturers (ca. 20%), the state budget (30-35%), so called concurrent testing (eggs, progeny, meat etc.) and other activities (ca. 45-50%).
