About us

The state-owned enterprise International Poultry Testing was founded by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.

The main activity of the company, as the only facility of its kind in the country, is to test the performance of all types of poultry in accordance with Act No. 154/2000 Sb. on breeding and registration of farmed animals, as amended by Regulation No. 448/2006 Sb. implementing the aforementioned Act.

The International Poultry Testing, a state-owned enterprise, keeps a central poultry register for the Czech-Moravian Breeders’ Association (Českomoravská společnost chovatelů, a. s.) and draws up reports on poultry stocks for the Czech Statistical Office.

Poultry testing

The International Poultry Testing, a state-owned enterprise as the only facility in the country tests the performance of all types of poultry.

The test results form the basis for issuing poultry performance certificates, and based on these results, breeding males and females can be used for further breeding in certified farms. The test results are published to inform all poultry breeders and the professional public.

The tests are carried out according to internationally recognised methodology and provide an objective comparison of the performance of genotypes bred in the Czech Republic with global genotypes. The testing also includes testing individual genotypes at different nutritional levels and conducting tests to determine the quality and effectiveness of feed mixtures from different producers.

The enterprise also tests the effectiveness of selected veterinary products. Ultimately, the enterprise not only fulfils the tasks arising from Act No. 154/2000 Sb. and the implementing regulation, but also ensures the protection of the end consumer both in terms of domestic breeding, the import of genetic material, and the production of feed and products used in poultry farming.
